so I think I finally escaped the industrial landscape and depressing gray concrete, pebbledashed nightmares of towns like kirkcaldy, as today all was scenic coastline with many protruding rocks and sandy beaches, punctuated with quaint painted fishing villages and the obligatory caravan parks that accompany nice places.

Yesterday marked a new high point in terms of free beer, thanks first to the landlady at the Man I The Rock in Dysart and then the locals at the Central in East Weymss.

Today I awoke to a bright sunny morning for the first time in ages, enabling solar charging of all my electronics - with the exception of gps, which continues to be tempermental about charging.

Covered 20 miles to arrive this evening in Anstruther, home to two champion fish and chip shops. However the queues were horrendous, so I went to a third establishment in the middle, which hit the spot nonetheless.

Sundry items:
I'm reading "For whom the bell tolls" by Ernest Hemingway. what a great book!

I keep chewing the ends of my moustache. Is that normal? I've never had one before. I guess its a "bad habit" like biting your nails, but in the absence of sophisticated tools it feels necessary!

end.
